After graduation from
Phillips, I married John Kromer from Borger and moved to Bermuda. He was
stationed at Kindley Air Force Base. Our next base was at Altus, OK. When
John was discharged in 1965 , we moved to Dallas. In the last 47 years I
have lived in several cities in the Metroplex ….Dallas, Richardson,
Bedford and Euless.
I spent too little
time in college, so no degree. I began my career with American Airlines in
1981 and have attended and taught many classes on travel. Travel is an
education in itself. I have had the opportunity to travel to destinations
in Europe, Asia, South America, Caribbean and the United States. On my
bucket list is to travel to all 50 states. I have less than 10 to go.
In my career with
American Airlines, I have had several positions and I have enjoyed most of
the 31 years. By the reunion I hope to be already retired or at least have
the date set. During the best Cowboy days (the beginning of Texas Stadium
till the mid 1980's), I worked for the stadium as a “Texett” and in the
lost and found office for Cowboy games and special events. I also gave
tours of the stadium. At Texas Stadium I met my best friend Ray Sadler.
Since I moved to the mid cities I have been involved with the choir and
children ministry at North Richland Hills Baptist Church. I have been a
member of the choir since 1988 and volunteered with the 1st and
2nd grades on Sunday morning for the last dozen years or more.
In 2004 I started my own home business with Southern Living at Home. In
2009 the corporate business name was changed to Willow House. On my
website www.lindakromer.willowhouse.com you can purchase from the outlet
and catalogs beautiful décor for your home and Sara Blaine jewelry for
you. |
Childhood always
influences the rest of your life. There was so much pride and drill to
always do your best at school . For me this attitude was instilled at both
school and home and it has stayed with me over the years.
I am sure those years
of playing, fishing for crawdads in the canyons and building tents with
clothes pins in the back yard impacted my life. Ha Ha--not sure how..
Many great and fun memories....All those band marching practices, the snow
storm in Canyon during band solo and ensemble contest, ALL the band and
choir trips.
In the last 3 or 4
years I have visited with Linda Lee class of 1963. We both were born on
October 10th and always had fun sharing that day in high
school. She lives in Oregon and I went to see her the year I turned 65.
It was great to renew the friendship. I have thought of others I would
like to contact over the years, but I have not.
Married John Kromer
in 1962, but ended the marriage in 1967. I have one daughter Tracy Lee.
She has two sons who call me Mimi ….Preston Lance 24 and Dillon Lee 14.
Both boys have traveled with me over the years and share many great
memories. Mimi is going to have her first great grandson in August. I
am destined for grandboys. I do feel loved.
