My
husband, Jim and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary
on June 2nd. My husband was a manager for CR Anthony’s for 34
years before having a stroke and retiring. We lived in Borger, Pampa,
Tulia, and Monahans before moving to Jal, NM for 8 years. We have lived
in Midland, TX for 31 years. While living in Jal, I worked for El Paso
Natural Gas Co. I retired from Atmos Energy in 2007 after working 26
years and I am enjoying my retirement very much. I don’t know when I
found time to work, I stay so busy.
We
have two children, Robin and Keith. We have been blessed with five
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who are a very important part
of our lives.
We
were so fortunate to have gone to school in Phillips where there were
teachers and administrators who saw that we not only received an education
but saw that we learned life skills that we still practice in our lives.
A few weeks ago I read in the paper that the Tri-State Music Festival was
being held in Enid, OK. It brought back some pleasant memories of the
trips we made to Enid and the fun we had. Also, our Senior trip was a lot
of fun. I still miss my friend, Barbara Dawson (Palmer) who lived in
Odessa, TX for about 20 years. She and her husband moved to Cordell, OK
after retirement. We still keep in touch and talk on the phone. I hope
to see everyone at the reunion. Just doesn’t seem possible it’s been 50
years since we graduated! |
