After graduating from PHS, I attended Frank Phillips
Junior College, where I met my wife, Carol. We were wed April 10, 1964. In
September of 1964, I was accepted into the College of Pharmacy at
Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated with a BS in Pharmacy
in 1967. In 2001 I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Southwestern
Oklahoma State University.
Carol and I have two children. Our daughter, Debbie has
two children and one granddaughter. Our son Dave also has two children.
Carol and I have owned two pharmacies, Ken’s Pharmacy in
Borger, TX and M&M Drug & Gift Shoppe in Dumas, Texas. We built and
operated the Cinema Four theatre in Pampa, TX. We owned and operated Ken
Roark Builders in Fritch, TX. We operated a direct marketing business for
several years in the 90’s. In 1999 I switched to hospital pharmacy and was
Director of Pharmacy at Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger, TX
until moving to Snyder, TX in 2001. I was the Director of Pharmacy there
until 2010. We now reside in Mineral Wells, TX where I am currently the
Director of Pharmacy at Palo Pinto General Hospital.
Growing up in small towns, including Phillips, gave me
the true meaning of community - friends greeting friends; people helping
strangers; meeting at the Post on Saturday nights; a place where the most
important values in life are God, family and friends. |
