PHS Class of 1962

Sue Anne Steagall Williams

Sue Anne recently

After graduation from Phillips High, I attended Frank Phillips College for one year, then married.  I spent the next few years taking college courses periodically and raising my three girls.  I obtained my BS in Psychology from the Univ. of Texas of Permian Basin in 1976 and began my career in teaching.  I taught Kindergarten for 10 years. I received my MA in Counseling from Adams State College in Alamosa, CO in 1988, which enabled me to expand my career, counseling in elementary school and then on to middle school, which I loved!  I have been married to Alan Williams for 22 years now.  How time flies!

I retired from education in 2005 and began a career in Real Estate.  I have since retired from real estate, and spend most of my time visiting children, grandchildren, brothers and my Mother.  I am fortunate to be able to see everyone since we are somewhat spread out….but am now contemplating a new business with a friend in Geriatric Care Management.

I have 3 daughters and a step-son, all of whom I am very proud!  My oldest daughter, Kim, lives in Carrollton TX with her husband Scott and children Carlie and Jackson.  Kim is manager for Ann Taylor Loft in Carrollton.  Dava, my middle daughter, lives in Grand Junction CO with her husband Orrin and daughters Afton and Chelsea.  Dava is comptroller and manager of Western Industrial Insulation.  Her oldest daughter Afton, is a senior at CSU and will finish next year and begin her teaching career. Chelsea will be a senior in high school in the fall.  Kristi, my youngest, lives in Grand Junction with her daughter Kaitlin, and works at Star Tek.  Kaitlin graduated from high school recently and plans to attend CU Boulder in the fall.  I have a 15 year old grandson, Benton, who lives in Twin Falls, Idaho.  My step-son, Spencer, lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Jessica. He is currently licensed to fly helicopters, and is working on  commercial and instructional licenses.  He has three children:  Curtis, 12, Hannah, 9, and Austin, 5.

Alan and I purchased a travel trailer, an r-pod, and are enjoying camping in the mountains of Colorado, and hope to venture further in our travels in the coming year.

I hope to be able to attend our 50th reunion; it will be great to see everyone!
